We might be learning something. Last week we were planning to travel back to Luperon over the weekend, arriving in good time to meet our friend Andrew, and settle back into life in the anchorage before Kel heads to Panama to do a delivery job for the month of August. An then this happened:

Four tropical waves in one week, nightmare.
So we had to rethink things a little. Tropical waves are the starting point for hurricanes, and at the end of July we’re definitely in the middle of the season. Rather than head out to sea in difficult conditions, feeling pressured that we’ve a guest arriving in a week (sound familiar?) we’ve been waiting in the Virgins for a window to make the passage in comfortable conditions.
It looks like we’ll be able to leave on either Wednesday night or Thursday to make the 2 and a half day trip.
Good stuff.

HI. It’s amazing to realise that I now understand those charts a little bit! Glad you sat tight, and hope the coral reefs gave up some more of their fish for you. Manhattan Clam Chowder tastes just as good here, made with crab meat! Still investigating the sticky rice recipes – anyone out there with a good one?
Much love
Mum xo
